Wooden Boat Building, reconstruction, renovation and repair

Gary Wheeler's  experience runs the gammit from caulking miles of seams to lovingly building a 50 foot tapered box mast without power tools. Since the early boatyard days he has worked on his own mainly specializing in reconstruction, renovation and general repair of primarily wooden boats. He is a traditionalist when it comes to working on wooden boats. He say's "They were built in ways that allows them to be fixed, so to me they should be fixed in the same manner they were built. It takes longer to fully penetrate an area of rot with epoxy than it does to properly repair it." Gary has an unrelenting love of the creative process and believe every craftsman is an artist. He says "Taking the mast mate from an idea to a unique ,viable , safe product allows me to help others take their ideas and do the same."
